West Allis (CBS 58)--Fruits and vegetables are foods we all should eat but sometimes we can't because of issues like money or accessibility. Today (August 16), the Hunger Task Force is giving away $25 vouchers, 400 of them, to senior citizens in need. They can be used at any farmers market in Milwaukee County until the end of October. One recipient I spoke with says we all need to do a better job making sure seniors are eating healthier items.
To quality for the vouchers you have to be at least 60 years old and have a monthly income of $1800 or less. You can get them at the West Allis Farmers Market between now and 4 pm. Remember it's first come, first serve. Stock boxes of food, including juice and cheese, will be given away as well.
