MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Hundreds of local students had gotten to learn more about careers in science and technology on Thursday, April 4.
Organizations and businesses were on hand at the Milwaukee County Zoo for the STEAM N-2 Careers Summit.
Elementary school students were exposed to exhibits and demonstrations from local companies, all focusing on the fields of science.
Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics, also known as "STEAM."
Those involved hoped today's event gave students a clearer picture of what a future job could look like.
"Well, I'm a former schoolteacher, so the heart for me is education, and what I know is that when students are exposed to different opportunities early in life, their vision for their future takes a totally different turn," said Eve Hall, CEO, Greater Milwaukee Urban League.
Organizations and businesses participating in the event included the American Red Cross, We Energies, and your own CBS 58.
