Hundreds of rowers to compete in the 2014 Milwaukee River Challenge

MILWAUKEE --Local rivers will be crowded with rowers this weekend for the 2014 Milwaukee River Challenge.

About 800 rowers from across the Midwest will be in town September 20, taking on the Milwaukee and Menomonee rivers for the annual challenge.

Organizers say the most exciting place for spectators to watch is at the junction where the Menomonee River meets the Milwaukee River. This spot has a challenging 90-degree angle, and rowers are known to make mishaps while making the turn. The finish line is also a great spot to watch the action.

CBS 58's Marshanna Hester practices her rowing techniques on the Milwaukee River and has a preview of the challenge.
