House Fire Displaces Dozen

A house fire on Wednesday morning forces more than a dozen people into temporary shelter.

The fire started in the back bedroom of a house near north 39th and courtland and spread to the second floor.

It took crews 45 minutes to put it out.

Despite no working smoke detectors the 12 people inside were able to get out safely.

One firefighter reported a minor ankle injury.
