BURLINGTON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- City of Burlington police responded to the 400 block of S. Calumet St. for reports of a train striking a hot air balloon. 

Early reports from witnesses on scene indicate the hot air balloon in distress and collided with a northbound Canadian National Train. 

Three occupants on the balloon were injured. Two were transported to a local hospital via Flight for Life, while the other was ground transported in an ambulance. 

The City of Burlington Police Department is conducting a collaborative investigation with members from The National Traffic Safety Board, Federal Aviation Administration, Canadian National, and the Wisconsin State Patrol to determine cause.

There are reports of a hot air balloon crash in Burlington.

According to Kansasville Fire Department, their team, along with Rochester and the city of Burlington, responded to the crash. 

Officials say there were three patients and two Flight for Life units were requested.
