MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee organization once again made sure that homeless people had someplace to spend the 4th of July.
This was the fifth annual Peaceful Picnic for homeless and at-risk people. They held the event just outside the MacCanon Brown Homeless Sanctuary on 25th and Center.
It turned out to be a beautiful day for a picnic and the organizers were all smiles, "Totally non-violent, drug-free, alcohol-free, for people with no place to go, all ages and we're doing it here and we're happy to do it,” said Sister MacCanon Brown.
Sister MacCanon Brown's organization is described as a street ministry. They're trying to raise money to upgrade their building. Click here to donate and learn more.
