Holiday Shows Hit the Stage with Many Local Artists to Celebrate this Season

Exciting classic productions with new sets and costumes and local approaches take center stage this Christmas season throughout Milwaukee.

Kristen Settle of Visit Milwaukee says the number of local artists being featured in the productions give us all something to celebrate.


1)    A Christmas Carol at the Milwaukee Rep, with new effects, new costumes, a new set and new soundtrack, and lots of audience surprises. For more information click here 


2)   The Nutcrackers at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts is a timeless classic for all ages. For more information click here


3)   Also at the Marcus Center, and is a moving gospel song play by Langston Hughes and tells the story of the birth of Jesus through gospel music, but ties in relevant themes for today's audiences too. For more information click here


4)    The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra is playing a variety of performances throughout December, but a must-hear is The Messiah which is being performed at Concordia University and the Basilica of St. Josaphat. For more information click here


5)    Also at the Basilica is Bel Canto Chorus performing "Christmas in the Basilica. For more information click here  


6)    First Stage Milwaukee is showcasing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. A great choice for families. For more information click here
