Hoan Bridge to glow in Bucks colors Tuesday in tribute to Giannis, Bobby Portis

Light The Hoan on Facebook

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Hoan Bridge will light up green Tuesday, June 23, in celebration of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis, whose trade from the Milwaukee Bucks to the Miami Heat was announced early Tuesday morning.

The tribute was announced in a post on the bridge's Facebook page.

"Milwaukee watched Giannis grow from a teenager with big dreams into a champion who helped put our city on the world stage. And we embraced Bobby as one of our own," the post read, adding that the bridge would shine "in Bucks green with a touch of blue and white for the Greek Freak."

Antetokounmpo spent 13 seasons with the Bucks, leading the franchise to its first championship in 50 years in 2021. Portis was part of that title-winning roster as well.

"Thank you, Giannis and Bobby for believing in Milwaukee, and for choosing us," the post said. "You'll always have a home here."
