Heavy Machinery Operator Electrocuted

PORTAGE, Wis. (AP) — Authorities in Columbia County say a man operating some heavy machinery died when it touched electrical lines.

The sheriff's office says 40-year-old William McKibben was electrocuted on his property in the town of Fort Winnebago Tuesday afternoon.

WKOW-TV reports the boom of the equipment McKibben was operating made contact with the overhead lines and he was electrocuted as he got out of the cab.

Emergency responders could not revive him.
