Heart of Canal Street to celebrate 30 years of giving at finale event Dec. 17
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Just in time for the holidays, Potawatomi Casino Hotel announced more than $500,000 will go to local charities in southeast Wisconsin during their Heart of Canal Street campaign finale event taking place Tuesday, Dec. 17.
The event is in honor of 30 years of giving and the 30 charities will be awarded as part of this year's random drawing celebration.
According to a news release, representatives from 162 local children’s charities will gather to find out if they are one of the 30 chosen charities to split the fundraising pool that will be announced at the event. Jen Lada, a reporter and host for ESPN and two-time Sports Emmy winner, co-hosts the event alongside Potawatomi CEO and GM Dominic Ortiz.
The event beginning at 3 p.m., will showcase an award-ceremony atmosphere; high energy, exciting random selections, and a few surprises in a room filled with hundreds of individuals with a passion for supporting children in our very own communities.
Heart of Canal Street is Potawatomi Casino Hotel’s signature charity giving program that started at Potawatomi’s Bingo Hall 30 years ago.
