HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Brewers' Jake Bauers went to Marina High School in Huntington Beach, California where he started playing baseball at a young age.

CBS 58's Natalie Shepherd spoke with Bauers' high school coach, Robert Marshall, who was alongside the Brewers star as he made his way all the way to professional baseball.

During their time together, Marshall would move Bauers all around the field and all around the order, but no matter where he was, he excelled.

Marshall has coached hundreds of players over his 30-year career, and he says Bauers' passion for the game is something you can't teach.

"I am just a part of the journey, for him to get where's he's at, I mean he had all the talent what it takes is dedication, it takes his passion, and it takes his work ethic, and Jake had that," said Marshall.

Although Bauers has played at Dodger Stadium a number of times in his professional career, his first time was actually in high school for the Southern California State Championship game.
