Hartford police investigate possible child enticement attempt

HARTFORD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Hartford police say they responded to a possible child enticement complaint Friday, Feb. 21.

Authorities say a pair of young siblings were walking home from Lincoln Elementary School around 3:40 p.m. when they were confronted by a man on E. Monroe Avenue at Wheelock Avenue.

The kids said the man got out of a black, small-sized sedan he was driving and asked the young boy if he wanted candy from the trunk area of his vehicle.

When the boy said no, the boy's sister grabbed her brother's hand and walked away. The man then got back into his car and left.

The man is described as 25-30 years old, about 5'6"-5'11" with an average build, dark, medium-length hair with a mustache, and wearing a black suit, black tie and shiny shoes.

Area law enforcement and school officials have been notified.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Hartford police at 262-673-2600.
