Hamilton Family to Host Dontre Day at Red Arrow Park

Saturday marks two years to the day since Dontre Hamilton was shot and killed by former Milwaukee Police Officer Christopher Manney.

With help from the Coalition for Justice, Hamilton's family will host a 'Dontre Day' event at Red Arrow Park Saturday afternoon.

That's where Hamilton was killed.

Manney was cleared of all charges.

However, Hamilton's family just this week, filed a federal lawsuit against Manney and the city of Milwaukee.

Dontre's brother Nate says the family wants to rally the community in a peaceful way.

The march steps off tomorrow at 12:30 PM at the Center Street Library on Fond du Lac Avenue and continues to Red Arrow Park.

Family activities will then follow.
