Greenfield PD: Pursuit involving 5 teens in stolen vehicle reaches speeds up to 90 mph
CBS 58 GREENFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Greenfield police say five teens were arrested Thursday morning, after fleeing officers in a stolen Kia.
The pursuit began when officers attempted to perform a traffic stop near 33rd and Loomis, according to the Greenfield Police Department, and continued at speeds up to 90 miles per hour toward S. 76th St.
Authorities say the 15-year-old driver traveled through the parking lot of Southridge Mall and onto W. Edgerton Avenue before officers used a PIT maneuver to bring the vehicle to a stop.
After running from the car, police say all five teens were apprehended, ranging in age from 14-17 years of age.
The police department says it's suspected that the teens were on their way to a Greenfield apartment complex to steal more vehicles, due to evidence found inside the Kia.
Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County Children's Court Center.
