Meet CBS 58’s Pet of the Week: Snoopy
GREENFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- If you'd like to help the environment, and do one less chore, you're in luck.
Cities like Greenfield are inviting residents to participate in "No Mow May".
The title is pretty self explanatory. You let your lawn grow freely during the entire month of May.
Just keep the lawnmower in the garage.
The idea is that by letting grass and weeds grow in your lawn, there is more food for pollinators like bees.
"Just for that one window when the insects and pollinators are here already, but the other native plants haven't come into the seasonal bloom or flourish, said Dennis Fermenich. "It's that critical window that we are looking at ways to bolster.
Greenfield asks you to sign up on the city's website to participate. So far they've had twice the response they expected.
