MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Visit Italy this weekend without leaving Wisconsin at the Italian Community Center's annual Taste of Italy.

Hundreds of meatballs and cannolis are being prepared for the event this Sunday at the ICC located at 631 East Chicago Street in the Third Ward.

The event runs from 11:30 to 3:30. There is no admission fee, and free parking is available.

Italian dishes like stuffed shells, calamari, clams and spaghetti will be available. There will also be dessert and drinks. Each food ticket costs $3.

"Everything is one ticket each, except the calamari, that's two tickets, and I expect that we're going to have some decent weather," ICC Vice President and Taste of Italy Co-Chair Marie Andaloro-Lieber said. "We also have a raffle, some very, very nice prizes we're having this year, and a 50/50 raffle."

The event helps to fund the nonprofit and the cultural and educational activities they put on for the Milwaukee community.

"This is one of our biggest fundraisers that we have, and people really do enjoy coming to the Taste of Italy, and I hope to see you there," Andaloro-Lieber said.

In addition to the Taste of Italy, the exhibition "It's About Time" opens Friday, April 21, in conjunction with Gallery Night MKE and will be available for viewing through May 2023 inside the ICC. The exhibit brings together Richard Lazzaro, Andre Ferrella and Antonio Testolin for a celebration of friendship and lifelong creativity as the exhibition brings together the work of these Italian American artists.
