Governor's Representative tours Milwaukee's Parenting Network

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Running a non-profit group like Milwaukee's Parenting Network is not easy.

People work hard to support local parents and to prevent child abuse. Thursday was a special day at their office, as a representative from Governor Tony Evers stopped in to take a tour.

"No one from the Governor's office has ever come to our agency," Parenting Network's Executive Director Joyce Felker said. "What this tells me is that our governor is interested in all of us, to find out how do non-profit, how does our work really support families."

The Parenting Network has been around for 43 years, and every year the group provides support for education for more than 8,000 parents and caregivers.
