Governor Walker considers job losses and gains a new casino would bring

MADISON -- Governor Scott Walker released a statement pointing out the difference in estimated job gains and loss reported by different Indian tribes.


In his statement, Governor Walker says the Potawatomi claims the new casino in Kenosha would the Milwaukee area about 3,000 jobs. The Potawatomi also says their casino would lose over $921 million in the first five years.


Governor Walker pointed out that Menominee tribal leaders say the Potawatomi will lose $62.6 million over four years.


When talking about his decision making process, the governor points out the difficulty of getting unbiased and impartial information. 


City of Milwaukee officials have released several statements in opposition to the casino.
