Governor signs executive orders on opioid abuse

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (CBS 58) – Governor Scott Walker signed two orders in Eau Claire in an effort to fight the state’s opioid epidemic.

One order would create the “Governor’s Commission on Substance Abuse Treatment Delivery.” The panel would study the feasibility of regional resource centers for addiction treatment and deliver recommendations.

The other order would require the state health department to create a faith-based summit on opioids for pastors and priests and also develop best practices for police and medical workers responding to overdoses.
