Governor Scott Walker: Almost all Wisconsin dairy farmers at risk of losing business found new buyers

Almost all of the Wisconsin dairy farmers who were at risk of losing their business were able to find new buyers.

Last month, Grassland Dairy in Canada announced it would no longer buy milk from more than 70 farmers in Wisconsin. That sparked panic in the industry as those farmers frantically searched for new buyers to avoid losing their farms.

Today, Governor Scott Walker said 99% of the farmers were able to do that.

In a statement the Governor said,

"Our producers and processors will continue to thrive, as they have for so many generations, as long as there is a level playing field. Canada is our largest trading partner and we want a strong relationship to continue, but we think they're just plain wrong on this issue."
