MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- From a kid of average height shocking the world during the NBA Slam Dunk Contest to research about Black History Month, February was full of interesting search trends online.
Google Trends expert Marley McAiley joined us on Tuesday, Feb. 28 to discuss an overview of the most popular search queries on Google during February. The month saw a mix of nationwide and local trends.
In terms of entertainment, the Grammys and Rihanna's halftime show were especially hot topics, with culture-focused topics being dominated by Valentine's Day and Black History Month. The Colorado River captured attention in the science category, while NBA All-Star Weekend and scoring records dominated sports searches.
The "spy balloon" situation skyrocketed UFO sightings into the top search topics, as well. Meanwhile, National Pizza Day proved to be a hit in the food category.
