"Go Red" Friday for heart disease awareness

MILWAUKEE -- It's a staggering statistic that many women are unaware of.

Heart disease is the number one killer of women.

Yet only 1 in 5 women believe that heart disease is her greatest threat.

Today, the nation is asked to join in a sea of red for the 10th annual National Wear Red Day

Jay Matz with the local American Heart Association joined the CBS 58 Morning News to share why this day is so important and what the public can do to spread awareness.

Governor Scott Walker issued a statement Thursday asking Wisconsinites to wear red as well.

The Executive Residence will be lit red Friday until midnight in support of Wear Red Day.
