MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Ahead of the holidays, United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County is giving back to the community.
On Friday, Dec. 20, they donated books and holiday gifts to Milwaukee children.
It's the fourth year of the program that's dedicated to Jeannette Robinson, a young Milwaukee girl who died along with her mother back in 1984.
On her 6th birthday, Robinson gave away her Christmas presents to children in need -- an act of kindness that continues to inspire United Way's work today.
Since 2021, the Lil' Jeannetta Robinson "Gifts of Love" program has been able to reach more than 2,000 kids at five Milwaukee elementary schools.
