MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- George Webb Restaurants across Wisconsin will offer FREE burgers for the "12 in a Row" promotion on Wednesday, Aug. 20 from 2-6 p.m.

Vouchers will be available starting Friday, Aug. 15 for pick up at restaurant locations for those who want to enjoy a George Webb hamburger at a later date. A limited menu will also be available on the giveaway day with great deals on extra burgers, fries and drinks.

“Our founder made the bold prediction of 12 games in a row back in the 1940s, and it has only been realized three times in our company history,” said Ryan Stamm, vice president of George Webb Restaurants. “We couldn’t be happier for Milwaukee – we look forward to grilling up some tasty victory burgers for the best fans in baseball.”

At the George Webb location in Franklin, CBS 58 spoke to some longtime fans who were there for the last two promotions and some newer, younger fans who are experiencing it for the first time.

But there's one person who has been cooking the burgers at George Webb every single time the promotion has happened.

Mary Beth Unglaub has worked at George Webb for over 40 years. She was working when the Brewers won 13 games in a row in 1987 -- the first time the burger promotion happened.

Then, 31 years later, the Brewers won 12 in a row and Mary Beth was there flipping patties. She says she's got it down to a science this time around.

“It was good. The first one was exciting. It was raining out. I was outside in the rain. The second one was a very nice day and it was very exciting to see all the people just for a burger.”

The free burgers have many fans excited but nearly everyone we spoke to said they believe it's just the beginning for the team.

Fans say they hope this winning streak continues to the World Series.
