BEAVER DAM, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Out in Beaver Dam, Generac held a ribbon cutting at a new facility Thursday morning.
Work there will support increased demand for industrial generators.
With 130 people currently employed, the company hopes to push that number to 320 by the end of the year.
The location is strategically placed for Generac, moving jobs back from Mexico and allowing for expansion at other Wisconsin sites.
"I think for Generac, we're just excited to be able to continue to expand within Wisconsin, bring more jobs into the state, and then within the Beaver Dam community as well," said Andrew Martin, VP of operations for industrial business. "We got a lot of offices across Wisconsin, and finding other labor markets to expand into, so Beaver Dam seemed like a good fit."
Generac also says their current workforce in Beaver Dam is 50% women.
