Gas prices increase locally

After experiencing declines in gasoline prices recently, the average retail price of gasoline has risen by 3 cents a gallon in the last week.  After surveying 615 gas outlets in Milwaukee, GasBuddy reports the average price of gasoline in the Milwaukee area to be $2.34 per gallon.  Nationally, the price per gallon has increased 2.7 cents in the last week, averaging $2.22 per gallon.

Despite the increase, the average price of a gallon of gasoline in the Milwaukee area is still 56.5 cents lower than it was on the same day one year ago and 24 cents lower than one month ago.

Patrick DeHaan, Gas Buddy senior petroleum analyst calls last week’s increase an “isolated blip” and expects to see lower prices return to most of the country in the weeks ahead.
