Funeral homes offer virtual features to help loved ones mourn during pandemic

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Funeral homes are now offering new features to help loved ones grieve from a distance.
During the pandemic, Krause Funeral Homes has been hosting virtual funerals at all their locations.
Services are livestreamed on their website, either publicly or privately.
It may not be a substitute for an in-person funeral, but officials say the services have turned out to be an effective tool.
"And it's allowing families to still connect, and people can go on and view from different angles and they can write things and give condolences and connect up with the family, if not at the funeral, afterwards," said Mark Krause, of Krause Funeral Homes.
Krause Funeral Homes say they've had the technology to livestream funerals for years, but they haven't needed to use it until the pandemic.
