Franklin dog owner parts with ten dogs due to city ordinance

FRANKLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Franklin dog owner had to get rid of ten dogs in order to comply with a city ordinance.

According to Franklin Police, a home near W. Rawson Avenue and S. 68th Street was found to have 12 dogs. Franklin's municipal code limits residents to "two dogs, cats, or tiny horses" with some exceptions.

Officials said all of the dogs were found to be healthy, although stains were found on the carpet.

Police gave the owner a week to relocate the dogs or face citations. There are now only two dogs remaining at the home.
