Former Teammates React to Wade's Decision

The Marquette alumni team will continue their run in The Basketball Tournament Friday night on national TV. They'll be on ESPN2 trying to reach the quarterfinals of the two million dollar event. But the Golden Eagle who stole headlines this month did it for $47 million. Dwyane Wade shocked everyone, including a former college teammate when he joined Jimmy Butler and the Bulls instead of sticking with the Heat.

Travis Diener tells me, "I was a little surprised. I think most basketball fans figured D-Wade would stay in Miami for his whole career. But it's an exciting chapter for him, I know he's excited and we're excited for him. We get to have him closer to Milwaukee."

Wesley Matthews came to Marquette a few years after Wade left for the NBA, but the Dallas Mavericks star was surprised to hear the news too. "I didn't think there was any way he was leaving Miami but it is what it is. He made the decision that was best for him you have to respect a guy for that."
