MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — Former Marquette University golfer Hunter Eichhorn has earned his PGA Tour card for the 2027 season, becoming the first player in program history to reach the tour through PGA Tour membership.

Eichhorn secured his card following a breakout 2026 season on the Korn Ferry Tour, establishing himself as one of the circuit's most consistent performers.

The Carney, Michigan, native has nine top-10 finishes with one tournament remaining in the Korn Ferry Tour season and ranks among the circuit's leading points earners, putting PGA Tour status out of reach for those chasing him.

His nine top-10 finishes are tied for the most on the Korn Ferry Tour this season. Eichhorn has also recorded 12 top-25 finishes and earned nearly $400,000 entering the Korn Ferry Tour Championship.

The achievement marks the latest step in a steady climb through professional golf for one of the most accomplished players in Marquette history.

Eichhorn earned full-time Korn Ferry Tour status for 2026 after winning at the second stage of PGA Tour Q-School in December 2025. He capitalized on the opportunity throughout the season, playing consistently enough to secure a place on the PGA Tour for the first time in his career.

Before turning professional, Eichhorn competed for Marquette from 2017 through 2022 and compiled one of the most decorated careers in program history.

He was named Big East Player of the Year three times, earned first-team All-Big East honors four times and was selected to the PING All-Midwest Region team five times.

Eichhorn remains Marquette's career leader in scoring average at 71.38 and also holds program records involving counting scores and rounds at par or better.

He won six collegiate tournaments, including Big East individual championships in 2018 and 2021.

Eichhorn also became the only golfer in Marquette history to compete in four NCAA Regionals and set a program record with a round of 61 at the 2022 Puerto Rico Classic.

After completing his collegiate career, Eichhorn continued working his way through professional golf before earning his breakthrough opportunity on the Korn Ferry Tour.

Now, after a season defined by consistency and nine top-10 finishes, Eichhorn will make the jump to golf's highest level in 2027 as the first former Marquette golfer to earn a PGA Tour card.
