MILWAUKEE COUNTY (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee County woman is charged with embezzlement after she admitted to using her employer's debit card to pay off student loans, book hotel rooms, and purchase airline tickets.
According to the criminal complaint, 56-year-old Karrie Spoerl stole around $92,000 from The County Clare Irish Pub & Inn in Milwaukee.
The complaint said she had access to a company debit card because she was the restaurant's bookkeeper.
Spoerl had worked at the County Clare on North Astor Street for roughly 14 years.
She was fired in 2015 when the owner found out that she had been stealing.
