Former Attorney General Eric Holder spoke at the local 33 AFSCME building in Milwaukee Thursday and advocated for fair election maps.
Holder endorsed Supreme Court candidate Rebecca Dallet. He has already put $140,000 into that race, and said he might give more.
Holder is the chairman of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee. He says the way Wisconsin's voting districts are drawn, skews which votes matter most, and take power away from minorities.
He's calling for new maps.
"It's really kind of the way our nation is supposed to be constructed," Holder said. "If done inappropriately, it cheapens out Democracy, it takes power away from the people, and into the hands of the money interests."
Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel says the maps are fair -and is defending them to the U.S. Supreme Court. The court could potentially order the state to redraw them.
