MILWAUKEE (CBS 58)-- Fred Usinger's Day is Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022. And to celebrate Old German Beer Hall is giving out free bratwurst sandwiches.
It's Not a bad way to observe Fred Usinger's Day, which happens every February 23rd.
From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, everyone will get a free bratwurst sandwich at the Old German Beer Hall across the street from Usinger's itself. The event address is 1009 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Junior Drive.
In case you were keeping track, Usinger's has provided a sausage staple in our area for more than four generations.
Keg tapping will begin at 6 p.m. and then free beer will be available while supplies last. Former Mayor Tom Barrett deemed February 23rd Fred Usinger Day in 2005, and it has been celebrated ever since.
