FOND DU LAC, Wis. (CBS 58) – A 37-year-old Fond du Lac man died after being arrested and showing signs of medical distress in the back of the police squad car.
Authorities say it happened around 9:31 p.m. on Sunday.
The man was pulled over for a traffic stop when officers discovered the man was out on bail for a previous incident. He was taken into custody for violating the conditions of his bond.
Once in the back of the police car, authorities say the man showed signs of medical distress. An ambulance was called to the scene and transported him to the hospital. He later died.
The Sheboygan Police Department is leading an investigation into the incident. Per policy, the three officers involved have been placed on administrative leave.
