Flight for Life Called to Racine County After Wife Hits Husband with Car

RACINE COUNTY - A man is recovering after being hit by a car in Racine.

Shortly after midnight, the call came in that a man in his early 30's was bleeding from the back of his head in the 400 block of S. Front Street in the Village of Rochester. The caller said that he heard someone yell for help, then heard arguing, and then heard a loud sound like a gunshot or someone being hit by a vehicle. He also reported seeing a vehicle drive away from the scene.

It was determined that the victim had been hit by a vehicle. He was later taken by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital where his current medical condition is unknown.

The driver later returned to the scene.

The preliminary investigation determined that a husband and wife were having a domestic dispute inside the vehicle. The wife, who was driving, pulled over and the husband got out. At some point, the wife struck the husband with the car and then left.

The wife has been identified as Terria Rudzinski and has been arrested and charged with OWI Causing Injury, Injury by Intoxicated Use of a Vehicle, and Felony Hit and Run.

The investigation remains ongoing.
