First of Samoyeds Find Forever Homes

The first of these rescue dogs found their forever homes on Tuesday.

People started lining up just after 1 am.

That will probably happen in the next few days.

The Burnett County Health and Human Services and Sheriff’s Departments contacted WHS for assistance in the situation last week and were also on-site during the rescue, according to a release from the Humane Society.

Overwhelmed by trying to care for too many dogs, the owner surrendered 12 of the dogs to WHS. They were transported last Wednesday to the WHS Milwaukee Campus, where they are now receiving veterinary exams, behavior support and loving care from a team of dedicated staff and volunteers.

All of the dogs are behind housed at the Milwaukee Campus located at 4500 W Wisconsin Avenue.
