First beers brewed onsite at American Family Field hitting J. Leinenkugel’s Barrel Yard

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Brewers and J. Leinenkugel’s Barrel Yard are ready to serve the first barrels of beer brewed onsite at American Family Field to fans.

The new brews, Lead Off Lager and Double Play IPA, will debut Tuesday, June 6, when the Brewers kick off their homestand against the Baltimore Orioles and Oakland Athletics.

Fans will have access to these beers at the Barrel Yard during the Brewers' homestand, which continues through Sunday, June 11.

Corrine Georges, Leinenkugel’s Pilot Brewer, is the creative force behind the beers, which will regularly rotate in the J. Leinenkugel’s Barrel Yard.

"Milwaukee's rich brewing history, coupled with the Leinenkugel family's deep knowledge of brewing in Wisconsin, has been my inspiration," Georges said in a Friday, June 2 press release. "Coming to work each day in such a unique space is a true joy, and I eagerly anticipate sharing our first brews from the Barrel Yard. Both the Lead Off Lager and Double Play IPA have flavor profiles that make for an ideal start to the summer."

Limited quantities of the new beers will be available at J. Leinenkugel’s Barrel Yard, where fans can also enjoy a full range of Leinenkugel beer offerings and a comprehensive menu from the scratch kitchen.
