Firefighters Dish on Favorite Recipes at Public Market to Raise Money for Children's Hospital
Firefighters have a reputation for being the best cooks.
On Tuesday night, those who bought a ticket to the cooking class at Public Market had the unique opportunity to find out what really makes their recipes so hot.
Firefighters from Menomonee Falls and Milwaukee served up their firehouse favorites.
The money raised through tickets sales and additional donations will go to Children's Hospital.
Those who attended watched the crews prepare a multi course meal and got to samples to taste.
"I learned everything from the other members of the department," explained John Surges of the Milwaukee Fire Department. " Through the years, pick up a recipe here and there. Worked out okay. I've been doing it for 12 years."
The firefighters also shared the firehouse rule.
Whoever cooks does not have to clean up.
