Menomonee Falls Fire Department MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. (CBS 58) — A firefighter suffered minor injuries while crews battled a house fire Thursday night in Menomonee Falls.
The Menomonee Falls Fire Department responded shortly before 11:15 p.m. to a home near Parkway Drive and Ravine Drive. The first firefighters on scene reported heavy fire and smoke coming from the rear of the residence.
All occupants and pets safely evacuated the home before firefighters arrived.
Crews quickly brought the fire under control, but smoke conditions in the attic indicated the flames had spread into concealed void spaces. Firefighters accessed the attic by pulling sections of the ceiling and opening portions of the roof to extinguish the remaining fire.
The home sustained fire damage to the exterior deck, along with fire and smoke damage throughout the attic and living areas. The family has been displaced while restoration work is completed.
One firefighter suffered minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.
The Menomonee Falls Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire.
