Fire damages long time bowling alley in Waukesha

A long time bowling alley in Waukesha was damaged by fire Sunday night.  The fire was reported around 9:15 PM in Fracaro’s Lanes at the corner of White Rock Avenue and E Moreland Boulevard.   The Waukesha Fire Department along with crews from 12 other departments battled the blaze.   There is no official word on what caused the fire or the extent of the damage to the building.  Neighbors reported that the bar reopened last month after being closed since May for renovations.   According to Fracarco’s Lanes web page, the business is family owned and operated.  It has been a 16 lane bowling alley since 1957,   It began as a tavern in 1933.
