Fawn rescued from window well in Greenfield

Skedaddle Humane Wildlife Control

GREENFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Greenfield homeowner had quite the surprise when they found a baby deer trapped in a window well.

It all unfolded on June 17, when Skedaddle Humane Wildlife Control was contacted by the concerned homeowner after they found a baby deer trapped.

The fawn's mother was nearby, and Skedaddle Humane Wildlife Control was able to safely remove the deer from the window well.

"As soon as its hooves touched the ground, the fawn let out a call and quickly ran off into the nearby brush — back in search of its mother, who was still waiting close by," Skedaddle Humane Wildlife Control said in a news release.

The wildlife control center says, without help, the fawn may have become weak, dehydrated or an easy target for danger.
