MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- After almost four years of silence, the sound of auto racing is coming back to the Milwaukee Mile.
"The rumble, you sit in those aluminum bleachers, you can feel the rumble of the cars going by and it's definitely an adrenaline rush for us fans, the fans," said John DeAngelis, stock car race driver.
Driver John DeAngelis is excited about a Father's Day racing event announced Thursday for the Historic Track at State Fair Park. It will include stock car races, a truck race, and some "vintage indy cars," all on June 16. The history of auto racing at the Milwaukee Mile dates back to 1903, before the Indy 500 started.
The last major event at the track was an Indy Car race in 2015.
