Father charged in Thanksgiving death of 3 children pleads not guilty, bound over for trial
CBS 58 KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Kenosha father charged in the death of his three kids appeared in court Thursday morning, June 4.
Joshua Kannin is charged with three counts of neglecting a child, causing death.
Kannin pleaded not guilty in court Thursday, and a judge bound him over for trial.
Police say Kannin was supposed to be watching the children when a fire started on Thanksgiving of last year. Investigators believe the fire began when two of the kids tried to make dinner on a stove that had debris on it. They also say Kannin had removed a smoke alarm from the home.
We spoke with the children's mother, Jourdan Feasby, after Kannin's appearance.
"I don't know how many more people, besides him, his mom, the landlord, like I don't know how many more people I could have tried to push before, what?" Feasby said. "Maybe I should have just kept them and not sent them anywhere, but I didn't do that, otherwise I would have gotten in trouble."
Kannin is due back in court in August for a pre-trial hearing.
