MPD: 42-year-old woman dead after double shooting near 65th and Ohio

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police have confirmed that a victim of a Wednesday night double shooting is a 42-year-old woman who was pronounced dead at the scene.

She was identified by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office Thursday as Shelley Kosik.

The shooting reportedly took place at around 8:50 p.m. near 65th and Ohio. A 42-year-old Milwaukee man was taken into custody, and also taken to a local hospital for a gunshot injury - he is said to be in critical condition.


The shooting is believed to be domestic violence related, but charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.

According to the fire department, one person was transported to a local hospital. The cause of their injuries is unknown.
