Fans react to Kaepernick's silent protest of the National Anthem

Some fans and fellow players aren't happy with 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick's decision not to take part in the National Anthem before the last two games.

Some fans took to social media today...burning the quarterback's jersey and other accessories with his number.

The choice also didn't sit well with New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz.

"Regardless of how you feel about things that are going on in America today, and the things that are going on across the world with gun violence and things of that nature, you've got to respect the flag, and you've got to stand up with your teammates. It's bigger than just you, in my opinion."

The Milwaukee native released a statement yesterday. He said he can't respect a flag he believes stands for the oppression of people of color.
