Family of Wisconsin assistant coach releases statement following devastating crash

MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The University of Wisconsin Athletic Department gave an update on behalf of the family of assistant basketball coach Howard Moore.

The family says they want to thank everyone for their support and well wishes and says Moore is taking steps toward his recovery every day. Moore and his son were hurt in a car accident in Michigan on May 25. Moore's wife and daughter were killed in the crash.

The family says they are accepting donations through the Moore Foundation.

The Moore Foundation was established to mentor, educate and develop the life skills of young people in the Madison and Chicago communities, fostering a culture of non-violence, growth, and achievement. For those who wish to donate in person and not online to The Moore Foundation, this can be done at any Park Bank branch in the Greater Madison area.
