Extended Weekend Closure of I-41/US-45 South

If your travels take you near the Zoo Interchange this weekend be prepared for some closures.

An extended weekend closure of I-41/US-45 southbound at Watertown Plank Rd. is expected to last until early Sunday morning, a closure that will last nearly 32 hours.

On Saturday the closure will be moved up from Watertown Plank Rd. to the core of the interchange and allow drivers access to Bluemound Rd. and I-94 westbound. Drivers will once again be able to access I-894 southbound by Sunday morning.

This closure is necessary so crews can begin work on setting girders and begin construction of the I-41/US-45 southbound to I-94 eastbound system ramp. During this extended closure drivers should use Hwy 100 as an alternate until the roadway reopens. Expect slow conditions along this route during peak hours.
