Ellenson injured in MU Senior Day win

Marquette began Tuesday night by honoring the lone senior on its basketball team. It ended the night with concern over a freshman's injury.

Henry Ellenson collapsed to the court in pain, holding his ankle, with 7:20 remaining in the second half of MU's game against Georgetown. A Hoyas player appeared to step on Ellenson's ankle as he landed after taking a shot. The freshman had to be helped to the locker room, and after the game, MU coach Steve Wojciechowski said Ellenson was still being evaluated.

Even without Ellenson for the final minutes, the Golden Eagles fought through an exciting final few minutes in an 88-87 win. Luke Fischer was fouled with 1.2 seconds remaining, and hit both free throws, before a desperation heave by Georgetown bounced off the side of the rim as time expired.

Fischer scored 19 points in the first half on his way to 23 for the game. Ellenson finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
