MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) - Crews started putting together a replica of the Eiffel Tower in Milwaukee's East Town Tuesday, June 30, signaling the iconic Bastille Days Festival is not far away.

The 43-foot wooden structure is a recognizable summer landmark in Milwaukee that is installed ahead of the celebration.

Bastille Days is the largest French celebration in North America, drawing over 100,000 attendees. The festival brings a taste of French culture with food, drinks, entertainment and a 5K run/walk, Storm the Bastille.

The 40-year-old festival returns to Milwaukee Thursday, July 9, through Sunday, July 12, at Cathedral Square Park.

The dates also happen to coincide with the World Cup quarterfinals, and there is a chance France will be in one of those matches, adding more excitement leading up to the festival.
