Edgerton man, 22, killed after crashing into trees in Dane County
DANE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 22-year-old man is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Dane County.
It happened around 12:26 a.m. on Saturday near Edgerton and Jacobus in the Town of Albion.
Upon arrival, deputies located a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado truck with significant damage and a male driver who had been ejected from the vehicle.
The driver was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
The investigation revealed that the driver was traveling south on Edgerton when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway which caused the vehicle to strike several trees.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.
He has been identified as 22-year-old Cody Rivera of Edgerton.
The Dane County Sheriff's Office says speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the crash.
